sure its an alternative to recode ! if u consider CLI is equivalent to GUI !!!. also recode is much faster and reliable. (not to mention easier to use and good design/usabilty, but its not even considered as a goal in open source culture )

A reliable, program that has never failed to get the job done. I use it all the time and don't know what I would do without it!
