Even people who have never used a photo editing program before will have fun with iPhoto. Apple's photo software will take the drudgery out of organizing your digital photos. It will even do it for you, grouping them by date or event. Which of us haven't sworn we'd always remember the day we took a particular photo, only to forget a few months later? All you know is that it was your son's first trip to the zoo, right? iPhoto can recognize pictures from the same event and dates and groups them accordingly.

You can even arrange your collection to see just the very best shots without tossing out the ones that are not as good but you want to keep them. The "hide" feature allows you to keep the best photos on view but have access to the others immediately.

The impressive palette of retouching tools and large collection of effects will make your digital photo album even more fun. All the edits are nondestructive so if you don't like one, you won't ruin the photo by deleting the effect. The Crop tool has guides to help you follow classic photographic standards and there is even a Straighten tool that will line up your horizon if your photo is a little crooked. You can even copy your editing and paste them onto other photos that have the same small imperfections. Instead of hours editing, you can spend that time enjoying your memories.

iPhoto even helps with printing your photos by providing themes, borders, text and textured mattes. The themes are easy to customize; you can print out your photos just the way you want them. There are no limitations with iPhoto.

So get creative and have some fun with your photos instead of slapping them on a CD and wondering later where in the world they are. iPhoto will change the way you look at your memories.
