Rosegarden is amazing. I only use Linux to produce audio, and this program is incredible. It is SO similar to Cubase and Cakewalk. Is has full DSSI and LADSPA support (open source VSTi, and VST-like effects) MIDI support (linux recognises Midiman/Evolution and many other USB keyboards/interfaces) without any configuration at all..multitrack recording, effects, midi loops, very nice step sequencer, notation editor like finale built in, it just completely rocks.

Is this software in any way compatible with Cubase? I'm not the biggest fan of windows, but we use cubase at school and wondering if this could be used in conjunction.
