aMSN - a simple MSN clone

Open sourceHere on osalt.com we recieve many hits for people looking for alternatives to MSN Messenger. And while many of the alternatives we present are valid and great products - only one of them strives to be an actual clone of the MSN Messenger.

Alvaro's Messenger or aMSN which it is normally called not only has most of the look and feel from MSN Messenger, but is even able to run of Mac (universal binary), Linux, FreeBSD and of course Windows. It may even be possible to get it working on other Unix variants.

aMSN supports virtually all of the features availble in MSN Messenger - you will even be able to video-chat (if you have a webcam) and exchange files with your friends. But unlike MSN Messenger aMSN offers support for plug-ins developed by other aMSN users. This allows a virtually unlimited number of features making aMSN easily expandable and flexible. The current list of plug-ins can be see here.

Version 0.96 is on the horizion - keep an eye out for it.
