Rating and comments for AbiWord

Excellent software, the only real hiccups I have found were how it handles larger documents, you need a fast computer for them... and setting a default language that is not your System Language seems to be impossible...though you can manually do it each time...

Otherwise, a top of the line product well worth trying...

Too basic. More of a Wordpad competitor.

The only drawback is that support for ODF file format isn't mature.

Crashes on vista. Output to pdf tend is not definetly NOT WYSIWYG.

I've used Abiword on many Linux distros, and everytime I've used it, I have liked it less and less. I'm a student, and I use a word processor in my job, so I create rather large documents. Abiword crashes often with large files, and I learned the hard way to save often when using Abiword. For me, it isn't worth the hassel. I love OpenOffice.org's suite of applications, including Writer. I prefer it to Microsoft Office 2007! Don't waste your time with Abiword, just get OO.o.
